Session Descriptions

 Apex Plaza – Virginia’s First Large-Scale Mass Timber Building

Totaling 187,000 SF of office, retail and multi-family space, Apex Plaza is the tallest cross-laminated timber mixed-use building on the East Coast.  Serving as Apex Clean Energy’s project executive for its development, John Bahouth will highlight the development’s sustainability achievements along with its unique construction methodology.


Data Center Craze Down I-95

With the explosion of AI and ever-growing need for digital data, demand for data center capacity continues to rise. Traditional markets in Northern Virginia are constrained by power and land availability, resulting in a shift south down I-95. Hear from an expert panel about industry growth in Virginia’s secondary markets, data center development trends, and challenges to securing power. Featuring Justin Kline of Schenley Investments, John Day of Clean Arc Data Centers and Curry Roberts of the Fredericksburg Regional Alliance.


North Fork – A UVA Discovery Park

Deborah van Eersel of the UVA Foundation joins us to discuss North Fork – a 562-acre Planned Development – Industrial Park (PDIP) that is home to science and technology firms, government agencies, academic institutions, start-ups and nonprofits.  Deborah will cover the North Fork’s mission, master plan, progress to date, work with VEDP on site readiness, and new 28-acre residential development effort to support UVA’s affordable housing initiative.
